The Beginning
A Building with a Story
The Main Madison started with a simple observation: there was nowhere truly great to stay in Madison, Minnesota. Travelers passing through town — hunters heading to Lac qui Parle, families visiting for reunions, contractors on extended assignments — were settling for accommodations that didn’t match the quality of their experience.
We saw an opportunity in a historic building on Main Street. The structure had good bones and a story to tell. What it needed was a vision — someone willing to reimagine what a short-term rental in a small Minnesota town could be. Not a motel room. Not a bare-bones Airbnb. Something with intention, warmth, and genuine quality.
So we got to work. Every material was chosen deliberately. Every fixture was selected for both beauty and function. The result is two distinct vacation rentals that honor the building’s character while delivering the comfort and design you’d expect from a boutique hotel in a much larger city.
